Poem: The English Way

“The World is coming to an end…”

“Oh have a cup of Tea, Dear…”

“I’ve failed my exams… sadly, again!”

“Oh have a cup of Tea, Dear…”

“He’s left me for a younger one…”

“Oh no!  Have a cup of Tea, Dear…”

“I can’t believe the size of my bum…”

“There, there, there, have a cup of Tea, Dear…”

“No one appreciates how hard I work…”

“I understand, have a cup of Tea, Dear…”

“My partner’s such a stupid twerp…”

“They’re like that; have a cup of Tea, Dear…”

“My kids are driving me insane…”

“Here now, have a cup of Tea, Dear…”

“When will it stop, this bloomin’ rain?”

“Best have a cup of Tea, Dear…”

“The ironing pile’s as tall as Everest!”

“I know, have a cup of Tea, Dear…”

“Will the neighbour’s yapping dog never rest?”

“Crikey!  Have a cup of Tea, Dear…”

“You pick me up when I’m feeling glum.”

“Ahhhh, have a cup of Tea, Dear…

“Pour out your heart to your Tea-making chum…”

“Yes, I’ll have that cup of Tea, Dear!”
